Young dog on Rimadyl?
Took my dog to our local dog park yesterday and swimming and climbing in and out of their pond it scratched all four of his paw pads pretty bad. Today, she could barely walk because they were so tender. The took him to the vet and they looked at them. Said just keep her on soft surfaces and allow to cure substantially. Also gave me a prescription for some antibiotics and pain medication. I watched the pain med (Rimadyl) online and found the stories very controversial. My dog is a Aussie, 36 lbs. will be an end of year old this month. They gave me a subscription 10 days to 1 / 2 tablet twice a day. Is it safe to give??
Rimadyl is safe for short periods to help reduce inflammation and relieve pain. It is when used for an extended period, problems may occur. If your that concerned then a quick call to your vet will relieve your mind! Ok Add: Another alternative is Deramaxx. I prefer the Deramaxx during Rimadyl but only for a few days, Rimadyl is fine. IMO
