Australian Shepherd Dog Breed Essential Information
The Australian shepherd dog, also commonly known as Aussie, a dog is relatively low working which was originally developed on ranches in Western USA. He acquired the Australian part of its name when the shepherds came to Australia United States. During the Second World War, this breed has gained in popularity, and the public grew to know them when they appeared on rodeos in television and movies from Disney.
Like all other breeds of working dog is a very energetic easily trained and dedicated to his task. It is working and show dogs. They may work as rescue dogs, disaster dogs, detection dogs, guide, service dogs and therapy dogs and regular family. There is a miniature version of the dog Well, not yet accepted as a race.
The standard size of Australian Shepherd has been registered by the AKC in early 1990, and the weight is not specified in the standard. Males weigh 45-60 kg and females weigh 35-45 pounds. Their color tends to be black, red (also called liver), the blackbird blue (black and gray marble) and red merle (marbled red and silver or buff). It is a rare brand based on it called The Chinese Australian Shepherd high in the mountains of Tibet.
This brand has a different color, which can sometimes be darker lilac or magenta, a very unusual shade. It is believed that this color is due to poor diet they have in this region.
The common color of the eye for this race include Green, Hazel amber, brown or blue – and May, they also have two different colored eyes, and sometimes even two colors in one eye. An early nickname for the breed was ghost-dog.
In general, this breed is energetic and needs regular exercise, though some of them have a lifestyle more lazy. They are intelligent, easyil thin and are easy to train as well. They love to play, and is reliable around children too. It is a dog suitable for both dog owners veterans and newcomers. They enjoy activities such as jogging, chasing balls, livestock, biking and Frisbee, and can sometimes be very careful, greed and demanding owners.
Some common health problems for this breed are cataracts, epilepsy, glaucoma, heart problems, allergies, skin problems and cancer. It is important to ensure that both parents have OFA and CERF certificates. They have a lifespan of about 11-13 years, based on a 1998 survey.
