Are You Killing Your Pet With Good Intentions?
One of the biggest down falls that pet lovers fall prey to is spoiling their pet. Its not uncommon for us to divulge our pets with all what we consider to be the good things in life. Unfortunately by doing this we may be killing our pets such as our dogs with good intentions.

How about us pet owners that put our pets before our love for nice furniture. If the furniture is good enough for us to sit and lie upon then its good enough for our beloved dogs right? Well in reality perhaps that old couch of yours that you and your dog love to snuggle up on may not be so good for you and even dangerous for your dog.

If the chesterfield or even several other items in your home were purchased before 2004 they may be dangerous to your dog. Many of these items were treated with fire retardants that has recently been discovered as being absorbed in the systems of dogs at a much higher level than humans. Yes humans are absorbing the chemicals as well but not to the degree that the dogs are . This is because their systems in many ways are far more sensitive than humans. The next concern of course is what kind of damage is this chemical doing to the dog. The answers to this have not been discovered as yet but it can't be beneficial to them, anymore than it is beneficial to us.

So really the bottom line is just because we assume something is safe for us or at least tolerable we can't assume that the same is applicable with our pets. We need to be extra diligent with what we expose our pets to.
